The trail starts by crossing a lovely wooden bridge (Cheri Zam) that spans the Wangchu River, one of the last remaining traditional suspension bridges in the Himalayas. The evening will be in leisure. Day 04: Thimphu – B L D Punakha Drive to Punakha and en-route stop at the Dochula pass which is a beautiful mountain pass (alt 3,140 m) with fluttering prayer flags and a spectacular set of 108 miniature chortens (stupas). Visit Sangchen Dorji Lhundrup Chholing Nunnery built on a hill overlooking the Punakha and Wangduephodrang Valleys. In addition to practice and teaching of the dharma, the nunnery provides life skills training in embroidery, sculpture, and thangka painting. Stay two nights at Uma Punakha. Day 05: Punakha B L D Sightseeing Today will visit Khamsum Yule Namgyel Chorten, a great temple to study the symbolic meanings of frescoes and sculptures. Visit the Punakha Dzong and cross over the longest suspension bridge in the country over the Pho Chhu River spanning 350 m. You will enjoy the swaying walk across the bridge draped with colorful prayer flags, visit the village and spend some time with the locals.

Day 06: Gangtey / B L D Phobjikha Valley Drive to Gangtey/Phobjikha Valley and if interested take the Gangtey Nature Trail hike or spend the day in leisure. B L D Day 07: Gangtey – Paro Visit the Gangtey Goemba monastery and later travel to Paro, enroute visiting Wangdue Phodrang Dzong. The historic dzong was rebuilt to its former glory and consecrated on 11th November 2022 upon Royal command, after the old dzong was razed to the grounds by a fire in 2012. Tiger’s Nest, a prominent Himalayan Buddhist sacred site and temple complex, located on the cliff side of the upper Paro valley, Bhutan. A temple complex was first built in 1692, around the Taktsang Senge Samdup cave where Guru Padmasambhava is said to have meditated for three years, three months, three weeks, three days, and three hours in the 8th century.Padmasambhava is credited with introducing Buddhism to Bhutan and is the tutelary deity of the country. Take some time to meditate inside the monastery and then return to the hotel. B L D Day 09: Paro Today, relax and spend the day in leisure.
